PROGRESSING YOUR INTEREST IN FOCUSED CONTROL (FC)

The following steps are suggested:

Engineers Visit - A preliminary visit by one of our engineers to:

  1. Outline the FC approach
  2. Gain an understanding of your operations and your perceived needs
There is no charge associated with such a visit.

A Presentation on Focused Control

A presentation, approximately two hours long to:

  1. Introduce Clive Hadfield & Associates Limited
  2. Illustrate the range of activities within the FC approach
  3. Demonstrate case histories, measurement and results
  4. Answer questions
  5. If appropriate, make detailed preparations for an analytical survey

There is no charge or obligation associated with such a presentation.

Analytical Survey

An analytical survey involves two senior engineers on site for between one and two weeks. The survey will:

Investigate practical working, processes, culture, communications, procedures, etc, as well as looking at the strengths and weaknesses of existing sub-systems and their system links

  1. Quantify the potential for improvements and evaluate that potential in cash terms
  2. Produce a comprehensive linked concepts diagram, marked up with current status and suggested responsibilities for ongoing improvement
  3. Produce a detailed proposal for a substantive joint effort to achieve the desired improvements, setting out the areas of opportunity, the objectives, the returns, the resources, the time scale, the cost, etc

The proposal is open to adjustment to meet your perceived needs as closely as possible.

Agreement to go ahead with the survey does not commit you any further. In the unlikely event that we decline to make a proposal, there would be no fee.

An analytical survey is charged at £3,500 for the first week plus £400 for each extra day up to a maximum of five more days, plus expenses.

A Joint Project

A project to achieve the identified improvements, often broken down into phases, so that early results can be demonstrated before further commitments are made. These would be particular features of a joint project:

  1. A joint project team, including at least one member of your staff
  2. Strictly defined terms for the measurement and evaluation of success
  3. A money back guarantee (limited to 50% for joint projects)
  4. An option to reduce the fee rates, in exchange for a share of the improvements
  5. Regular monitoring and follow up service

A project is charged at a weekly rate for engineer’s attendance. Duration is, typically, between two and twelve months. Costs vary from £10,000 to £90,000 for a complete project.  These costs may be broken down as low as £6,000 per phase to achieve isolatable parts of the larger project.

The ongoing annual value of the benefits usually exceeds the one-off fee cost by a factor greater than three.

  1. Meeting service and quality standards
  2. Performance contracts
